Gasp

How could one not crave
the kind of truth that makes
trust skip a beat
and fall
amid wisteria storms
when the rageful season
swarms
and sneers, shamelessly
infesting the senses?

this is so gorgeous Anna
my favorite so far...
you are so gifted and
surgical with words and they
come out like a haunting...

Thank you so much, Maddy...I'm really glad you like it.
That little thing was starting to aggravate me actually, which is why I'm pleasantly surprised that you would call it your "favorite so far" :) Thanks!

I was particularly attracted to the same line that made Lorena gasp. A very taut and powerful little poem.

Thank you, Patry! I'm glad you like it.
Thanks for stopping by, too.

This poem left me with the thought...Is there more than one kind of truth?

Anna Piutti said...

Travis - I guess there are (alas) various degrees of "truth", as well as countless ways of communicating it.

Travis Jay Morgan said...

...and the use of words is not one of them. However, the use of words may perhaps point us towards the truth.

Anna Piutti said...

On the contrary - I believe the use of words IS a way to communicate truths.
